Leren Mae Bautista was crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas-Asia Pacific International 2015 on Sunday at the 47th Mutya ng Pilipinas coronation night held in Resorts World Manila’s Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City (Metro Manila).
Joining Bautista in the top five were Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism International Janela Joy Cuaton from Doha, Qatar; Mutya ng Pilpinas-Overseas Communities Nina Josie Robertson from Australia; first runner-up Julee Ann Marie Bourgoin from Cagayan de Oro City; and second runner-up Brenna Cassandra Gamboa from Nueva Ecija.
Along with their titles, Bautista took home P150,000 while Cuaton was awarded P120,000 as well as prizes from sponsor brands and companies.
Bautista, a 22-year-old Marketing graduate from Colegio de San Juan de Letran, also bagged awards from pre-pageant competitions including Best in Swimsuit, Mutya ng Sheridan Resort & Spa and Mutya ng Hana.
The Los Baños stunner bested 30 contestants from the Philippines and Filipino communities around the world.
Prior to her Mutya ng Pilipinas 2015 win, Bautista was named Binibining Laguna 2014 and Miss Los Banos 2013.
She had also done modeling stints in the past such as Philippine Fashion Week runway shows.
The winners of the Mutya ng Pilipinas pageant are sent to international pageant events, such as the Miss Tourism International, Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International and Miss Asia Pacific International.
Under the Mutya ng Pilipinas organization, Filipina beauties have been named Miss Asia Pacific International four times and Miss Tourism International thrice.
