BAGUIO CITY: Some 150 Lambat–Sibat volunteers from various sectors of Ifugao were sworn-in recently to help the Philippine National Police (PNP) in maintaining peace and order in the province. PNP–Ifugao acting director, Senior Supt. Constancio Chinayog Jr., administered the oath taking of the volunteers at the Provincial Police Office in Lagawe, Ifugao. The volunteers pledged to abide by the rules and regulations of Lambat–Sibat Volunteer Program and to perform their duties and responsibilities for the preservation of peace and order in their communities to the best of their ability and capacity without fear. Lambat–Sibat is a deliberate, programmatic, and sustained approach taken by the PNP to combat criminality nationwide. It uses both wide dragnet and intel-targeted operations to catch small-time criminals and repeat offenders, under the “whole of PNP” approach.
