Lana Roi relaunches her singing career with ‘Inner Base’ from PolyEast Records

Although she’s been in the public eye as a former pageant titleholder and a model since 2009, Lana Roi is back in the limelight this time as a recording artist. PolyEast Records has just launched her eclectic mix of urban tilting songs, pop ballads, and dance inducing knockouts via her debut album Inner Base.

Speaking to The Manila Times, the half German, half Filipina beauty excitedly shared, “I wrote all the songs in the album myself that’s why it’s called Inner Base. Everything comes from my inside me—from the lyrics to the music—everything comes from my heart.”

Lana, who was raised in Canada exudes the total package of a performer, songwriter and a model. Singing since she was nine, it was her experience as a finalist in Canadian Idol at age 16 that convinced to pursue music. She started her singing career in the Philippines when she joined the girl group “Eurasia” as lead singer, which took her on a full year of road shows, especially for the Filipino communities abroad.

Finding the courage to go on a solo artist, Inner Base gives her a fresh start. Fittingly, her carrier single is titled “It’s Time,” and is gaining ground in the radio circuit, while a hot music video is due to premiere soon.

Meanwhile, the rest of the album as a whole introduces a refreshing, urban/dance-pop effort that is upbeat, unique and complimentary to the artist’s vocals. With 10 pop stomping tracks in all, two songs are co-written by Q-York, a Filipino-American hip hop record production duo.

Moreover, Lana promises that the album “has something for everyone.” It has a hint of dubstep (“Love it Boy,” “Inner Base,” and “Hands Up”); pop inspired tracks (“It’s Time,” “MinaMina,” “Free,” “Special Love” and “Body Pop”); and a few ballads (“This is Your Song” and “You’re All I Need”).

“I thank God every day for giving me the talent to inspire and entertain others. It’s always been a dream to have my own album where I wrote all the songs,” Lana concluded.
