ADAMS, Ilocos Norte: Torrential rains and landslide affecting some parts of Ilocos Norte, residents in this mountainous town are now completely isolated, said in a report from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC).
According to Ernesto Manegdeg, Municipal Planning and Development Officer of Adams, said Friday heavy rainfall since Thursday evening has caused landslide in some parts of the on-going road construction leading to the Adams town proper where residents have to cross water tributaries of the Bolo river.
Manegdeg said that since Friday morning, no four-wheel vehicle can pass though the Adams road, making residents completely isolated from other municipalities.
He said a team from the MDRRMC inspected the landslide areas and they have yet to wait for the rain to stop to conduct clearance operation.
As of this posting, Ilocos Norte is still under typhoon signal number 2. PNA
