    With three typhoons expected to hit the country this month, a lawmaker has proposed to move the opening of the school year to September from June. Actress and Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla made the push under her House Bill 104, which changes the school year to September to May from June to March. Mercado Revilla, a member of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats, noted that as much as 30 days are reduced from the number of school days because of the typhoons that frequent the country during the rainy months of June, July and August.
