Fierstein, on the other hand, is an actor and playwright with the trademark gravel-voiced. His claim to fame include two Tony award-winning productions “Torch Song Trilogy” and “La Cage aux Folles.”

In 2013, the two artists collaborated to write and score the the Tony Award-winning musical “Kinky Boots.” It is in this acheivement that they received adjacent stars–for recording and for live theater, respectively–on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in front of the Pantages Theater where their “Kinky Boots” is set to have a rerun.
