India wins Miss World 2017; Laura Lehmann of PH in Top 40

Miss Philippines Laura Lehmann made it to the Top 40 Semi-Finalists being the Group 17 winner of the Head-to-Head Challenge in the Miss World 2017 pageant in Sanya, China on Saturday night but failed to advance to Top 15.

However, she’s one of five winners in the Beauty With A Purpose segment along with South Africa, Vietnam, India and Indonesia.

In the end, last year’s winner, Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico crowned her successor, Manushi Chhillar of India.

Second Place or First Runner-Up was Andrea Meza of Mexico while Stephanie Hill of England placed third or Second Runner-Up. Rounding up the Top 5 were Magline Jeruto of Kenya and Aurore Kichenin of France.

The rest of Top 10 were Indonesia, Russia, Korea, Jamaica and South Africa, while others who made it to Top 15 were Mongolia, El Salvador, Nigeria, Japan and Macau China.

Given the Humanitarian Award was Father Rocky Evangelista of Tuloy Foundation, for his social work of providing residential care services for disadvantaged children and youth.

Hosting the pageant for the fourth year in a row now was Miss World 2013 Megan Young, along with Frankie Cena, Fernando Alande and Angela Chow.
