Lawmaker Cayetano weds volleyball star Cainglet

Neophtye Rep. Lino Cayetano of Taguig City got married to volleyball player Fille Cainglet on Friday, December 27.

Renowned designer JC Buendia, who made the gown of the bride, confirmed the news in a text message.

“Right,” Buendia told The Manila Times in a text message when asked if it was true that Cayetano and Cainglet wed on Friday and that he was the one who designed the latter’s gown.

Buendia, however, didn’t disclose further details as to who were present during the wedding and where it was held. Family members were likewise mum on the momentous occasion.

Congressman Cayetano is the younger brother of Senators Allan and Pia Cayetano. The Cayetano lawmakers’ father is the late Sen. Renato Cayetano.

Cainglet, 23, is a former ace of the Ateneo Lady Eagles Volleyball team which finished runner-up to the De La Salle Lady Spikers during the 2013 UAAP Finals.

Like Cainglet, her 35-year-old husband played varsity volleyball. Congressman Cayetano and his sister Pia donned the University of the Philippines jersey during their college years.

Senator Pia confirmed that her brother Lino is engaged to Cainglet in the micro blogging site Twitter last December 19.

“Yes, my brother is engaged to the ninja @FilleisFly,” Senator Pia said in her tweet.

Aside from being a lawmaker, Lino owns a coffee shop named Luna in Bonifacio Global City. LLANESCA T. PANTI
