LEGAZPI CITY: Rep. Christopher Co of Ako Bicol partylist denied participation over the controversial P25 million rigged bidding in Polangui town where Rep. Fernando Gonzalez (Third District) of Albay questioned the manner of bidding as it does not conform with President Benigno Aquino 3rd directive. Co who allocated with P10-million funds from his pork barrel to dredge the Nacascasan River but reportedly joined the negotiated bidding through Hi Tone construction conducted at Polangui ABC Hall on August 27 at 10 a.m. along with Ramar Construction owned by former Mayor Rafael Lo and TR Construction clarified with The Manila Times that he is no longer connected with Hi Tone for a couple of years ago. “As part of Ako Bicol Party List’s [AKB] assistance to one of our constituent towns in Bicol region [AKB being a regional political party], we have allotted P10 million of our Priority Development Assitance Fund to this project. I would like to set the record straight that I have no participation in this bidding, and the insinuation that I am the owner of Hi Tone Construction is false and misleading,” Co insisted in his statement.
