FOUR commissioners of the Energy Regulatory Commission, whom the Office of the Ombudsman ordered suspended for a second time, should resign as soon as possible, lawmakers at the House of Representatives said on Monday.
Representatives Johnny Pimentel of Surigao del Sur and Teddy Baguilat of Ifugao made the call after Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales ordered the three-month suspension without pay of Gloria Victoria Yap-Taruc, Alfredo Non, Josefina Patricia Magpala-Asirit and Geronimo Sta. Ana for neglect of duty when they allowed the misuse of Bill Deposits (BD) by allowing a “co-mingling” of the capital and operation cost of Manila Electric Company (Meralco).
