• League, union ask players what safety moves needed

NEW YORK: In the latest move to try and reduce NFL injuries, the league and its players union announced on Friday (Saturday in Manila) it has begun a survey of players to see what safety changes they desire. The survey, agreed upon in the 2011 labor agreement between the league club owners and players union, will be handled by an outside party for the NFL and the NFL Players Association. Last March, the NFL passed new safety rules for this season, and there has been a crackdown on blows to the head amid growing concern about the impact of repeated blows to the head on players and their brains.
