THE 2012-2013 National Basketball Association (NBA) Most Valuable Player LeBron James of the back-to-back champion Miami Heat will be in Manila on July 23.
Nike Philippines confirmed the news on Friday for the coming of the 6’8 James as part of the “Leave A Message” campaign aimed at inspiring Filipino hopefuls to strive for excellence just like the NBA 2003 top overall draft pick by Cleveland Cavaliers.
Nike joined the Miami Heat’s victory celebration with the “Leave A Message” campaign.
The Heat led by James prevailed over San Antonio Spurs, 4-3, in the recent NBA championship.
Followers of the 28-year-old James, a native of Akron, Ohio, can have a chance to leave a congratulatory messages through his answering machine and social media like Twitter and Facebook.
Fans also can meet in person the four-time MVP on July 23.
Nike Philippines will distribute tickets at its Nike Park in Bonifacio Global City at 12:00 noon on Wednesday and July 17.
Nike officials said that tickets are free of charge and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Only two tickets will be given per person.
This will be the first time James will visit the Philippines. He is now being considered as one of the best player in the league history.
He was named to the NBA All-Star for the ninth time and gained two All-Star MVP. He was once also a scoring champion and Rookie of the Year in 2004.
