Basketball superstar LeBron James of the back-to-back NBA champion Miami Heat will be in Manila on June 23.
Nike Philippines confirmed the news Friday for the coming of the 6’8 James as part of the “Leave A Message” campaign aimed at inspiring Filipino hopefuls to strive for excellence just like the NBA 2003 top overall draft pick by Cleveland Cavaliers.
Nike joined the Miami Heat’s victory celebration with the “Leave A Message” campaign. The Heat led by James prevailed over San Antonio Spurs, 4-3, in the NBA finals.
Followers of the 28-year-old James, a native of Akron, Ohio, will have
a chance to leave congratulatory messages on his answering machine and social media like Twitter and Facebook.
They can also meet their idol in person on July 23.
Nike Philippines will distribute tickets to the event at its Nike Park in Bonifacio
Global City at 12 noon on Wednesday and July 17.
The tickets are free of charge and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Only two tickets will be given per person.
This will be the first time James will visit the Philippines. He is now being touted as one of the best player in NBA history.
He was named to the NBA All-Star nine times and All-Star MVP twice. He was once also a scoring champion and was Rookie of the Year in 2004.
