The City Government of Legazpi is now coordinating with other local government units of Albay to ensure the safety of participants and guests of the 7th edition of Le Tour de Filipinas slated on February 18 to 21.
Legazpi City Mayor Noel Rosal said that the Le Tour De Fili¬pinas would bring a huge number of foreign personalities and local visitors.
The race, according to Rosal will showcase the culture of the city and the different idyllic places of the province.
Twelve foreign teams are expected to join the event, including the Japan Bridgestone Anchor Cycling Team, Minsk Cycling Club from Belarus, Skydive Dubai Pro Cycling Teams from United Arab Emirates, Japan UKYO Team, NOVO Nordisk from United States of America, Holland Global Cycling team, team of Sauer¬land P/b Henley and partners from Germany, LX IIBS Cycling team from Korea, Korail Continental Cycling team from Korea, Malaysia Terengganu Cycling team, Attaque Team Gusto from Taiwan and Black Inc. cycling team from Laos.
Three local squads are seeing action namely the Phil-Cycling National team, 7-Eleven Road Bike Philippines and Club Kopiko Cebu Cycling team.
The cycling race will cover a total distance of 700 kilometers from Antipolo City to Le¬gazpi City.
The race will be divided into four stages: the first stage is a 153-kilometer ride from Antipolo City to Lucena City on February 18, the second stage is 204 kilometers from Lucena City to Daet, Camarines Norte on February 19 while the third stage is 187 kilometers from Daet to Legazpi City on February 20.
The fourth and final stage will be held on February 21, a 147 kilometers, 360-degree race around Mayon Volcano twice and back to Legazpi City.
