Is it a yes or still a maybe?
President Benigno Aquino 3rd on Wednesday said Camarines Sur 3rd District Rep. Leni Robredo has not yet decided on his offer to be the administration party’s vice presidential bet in next year’s elections.

Speaking to reporters after the Liberal Party (LP) convention in Quezon City, the President explained that Robredo still needed time to make that decision.

“Leni is undergoing some processes. Let’s just wait for Leni to speak next week,” Aquino said.

The President recently held a meeting with Robredo to convince her to run alongside Roxas in the 2016 elections. Nothing was made final in the meeting because of lingering apprehensions of Robredo to seek higher public office.

Senate President Franklin Drilon, vice chairman of the LP, said the party is most likely to pick Robredo as their candidate for Vice President but her nomination will still have to undergo the proper process.

“Let’s just say that Congresswoman Leni is our candidate for Vice President,” Drilon insisted in a television interview also on Wednesday.

Robredo is the widow of former Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo, who was killed in a plane crash in 2012.

Aquino had said Robredo would be a good addition to the administration ticket since she is not a traditional politician.

He added that the administration has prepared an alternative plan in case Robredo turns down the offer.

The President, however, refused to provide details on the LP’s supposed plan B and left the matter to the administration standard-bearer.

“[Of course], but I think the candidate will be in the best position to answer that,” Aquino said.

  1. Belmonte and Drilon are saying, it’s Leni. Why can’t these two trapos (clowns really) wait for the announcement from the person herself? If they are trying to work her up on reverse psychology, they are insulting her (and for that reason alone she may not accept the VP); the lady is not dumb. The truth is is that she is fully aware that running for VP is an uphill battle. For senator, for sure she will be a winner.

  2. Please Rep. Leni, don’t be the running mate of Mar umi Ahas, make him suffer finding for a VP. Do you really want the Daang Palpak to continue? Mar umi Ahas has done nothing good all this past years but to play politics like Binay, and Poe kwang. May God bless us all.

  3. Why would anyone want to join Roxas on his ticket ? Is it because of the incompetence he demonstrated over the years ? Every agency he headed was a complete failure. Who in their right mind would want to be his VP unless they just want to get into government so they can loot the treasury as well.

Out of Roxas’s own mouth he wants to continue the failed practices of Aquino, None of the people running even talk about the failures of the Aquino administration except Binay. They are afraid to open their mouths or they agree with the Aquino governments claims of accomplishments where none existed, either way they are a sorry bunch if any of they are elected.

  4. No charming “Leni Robredo” can withstand the persistent and extravagant courtship of Malacanang and a guaranteed bigger and juicy pay check just to be Mar Roxas running “Checkmate.”
