Letran guns for second win in NCAA juniors

Colegio de San Juan de Letran (CSJL) will be gunning for its second straight victory as it faces Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) in the juniors division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Season 92 football tournament at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium on Monday.

The game is at 1 p.m.

The Squires are currently on a high after holding juniors category winners La Salle Greenhills (LSGH) to a 1-1 draw in their previous game last December 1.

On the other hand, the Junior Pirates will be looking to secure back-to-back wins following their successful conquest against hosts University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD), 1-0.

“We expect to win because we really need to get a win against them to get a shot at entering the second round. Hopefully, my players improve mentally,” Letran High School head coach Xarex Velasquez told The Manila Times.

Consequently, Arellano University (AU) is scheduled to face the Perpetual Help Junior Altas in the 9 a.m. match followed by the clash between the LSGH Greenies and Emilio Aguinaldo College.

Meanwhile, San Beda College currently hold the top spot of the NCAA Juniors Football circuit with two wins while AU, LSGH and LPU are all tied at the second spot with a win each.
