DESPITE the absence of point guard Franz Dysam, the Letran Knights will try to stretch their winning run to six when they face the Arellano University Chiefs on Thursday in the 89th National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City.
The Knights, the only unbeaten team with a 5-0 card, collide with the Chiefs at 4 p.m. while Lyceum Pirates seek for their third victory as they take on winless Saint Benilde Blazers at 6 p.m.
In the high school division, the Letran Squires with a 2-3 card meet the Arellano Braves at 12 p.m. while the Saint Benilde-LSGH Greenies hunt for their fourth victory when they meet winless Lyceum Junior Pirates at 2 p.m.
Meanwhile, the NCAA con-demns the assassination attempt on Colegio de San Juan de Letran player Dysam and the murder of his girlfriend Joanne Sordan last Saturday.
“We are appealing to those who may have any information on the incident to come out and help the authorities to bring those responsible to justice,” a part of the NCAA press statement reads.
