THE Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) on Saturday called on Filipinos to attend the Mass to be celebrated by Pope Francis at Rizal Park today.
CBCP president and Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas urged families to bring images of the Sto. Niño.
“Bring your whole family. Bring the children especially on the feast of the Sto. Niño. Bring your Sto. Niño images at home and let Pope Francis bless them. Let us see the joy of the children, [The] joy of the Filipino youth to be the pabaon of the Filipino people to Pope Francis,” he said.
On the other hand, Bishop Mylo Vergara, chairman of the Committee on Information and Media Relations for the 2015 Papal Visit, invited the faithful to join the last activity of the Holy Father in the country.
Before the Eucharistic celebration at Rizal Park, Pope Francis will meet the youth and leaders of religious organizations at the University of Santo Tomas (UST).
“Let us all go to UST and Luneta. Let’s celebrate,” Vergara said in an interview over Church-run Radio Veritas.
The Pope is expected to arrive at UST at 9:45 a.m. He will meet the religious leaders at the Arch of the Centuries.
For the program at the Luneta, the Holy Father will be at the venue at 3:15 p.m. He will go around the area in his popemobile before going up the stage.
The Mass will be the last event of the four-day Apostolic and State Visit of the pope in the country. Robertzon Ramirez.
