Children from Leyte will see action in the second run of the PNOY Sportsfest that will be held on November 27 at the Burnham Green, Rizal Park Manila.
Twenty children from typhoon-devastated Leyte will compete with 1,000 other young athletes in the meet organized by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and the Yellow Ribbon Movement to promote health and wellness through Filipino street games.
“We are not only doing this to celebrate the birthday of Ninoy Aquino and his heroism; this time we are doing it in the spirit of restoration,” said PCSO Chairman Margie Juico.
“We want to relive these Pinoy games in the hearts of Pinoy kids, so that in our own little way, we can make them proud and happy of being Filipinos,” added Juico.
The events’ guests include actor Carlos Agassi, Filipina bodybuilder Luz McClinton and Akap sa Bata Philippines President and Chairman Bishop Deogracias Iñiguez Jr.
The PCSO will also conduct a medical mission during the event.
The first leg of the tilt, which was part of the annual commemoration of the death anniversary of Sen. Ninoy Aquino, was held on August 30, 2013 at the Quezon City Memorial Circle with 700 participants.
