• Light plane crashes, 2 injured

Two people were injured after a light plane crash-landed in Barangay Santor, Tanuan, Batangas, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said on Monday. The CAAP said the pilot, Capt. Richard Ricon, and Vic Roldan, a mechanic, were safe but were taken to the Tanuan hospital for treatment of knee injuries. CAAP Operations and Rescue Coordinating Center received a report that a plane, a Cessna 172N with registry number RP-C993, crashed at the right side of Runway 5 of Barradas Airstrip after it took off on Sunday afternoon. The plane, operated by University of Perpetual Help System School of Aviation, was conducting a test flight when the accident occurred. The CAAP has issued a notice to airmen that all night flights to and from Zamboanga International Airport are cancelled until the runway lights at the airport are repaired.
