Expect light rains in several parts of the country on Christmas Day due to trough of low pressure area (LPA) affecting Mindanao while the northeast monsoon is affecting northern Luzon, the state weather bureau said on Wednesday.
In its advisory, PAGASA said Aurora and Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Davao, Caraga and Northern Mindanao will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.
Cagayan Valley, Ilocos and Cordillera will experience cloudy skies with light rains while the rest of the country including Metro Manila may be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
PAGASA said moderate to strong winds from the east to northeast will prevail over Luzon and Eastern Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east with slight to moderate seas.
Meanwhile, PAGASA also issued gale warning as strong to gale-force winds associated with the northeast monsoon will affect the seaboard of northern Luzon and the eastern seaboards of Central and southern Luzon and Eastern Visayas.
“Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” the state weather bureau warned. PNA
