• Lingering LPA to bring rains over Bicol, Eastern, Central Visayas

Expect rains over the Bicol region, Eastern and Central Visayas induced by the low pressure area (LPA) lingering off Eastern Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday.

AS of 4 a.m. Sunday, the LPA was spotted 460 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

The LPA has a small chance of re-intensifying into a tropical depression. If it does, it will again be named “Domeng” because it is still inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

“Domeng” is the fourth tropical cyclone to enter the PAR this year and the first this month.

The LPA has been almost stationary because of a high pressure area (HPA) near it.

There will light to moderate showers and thunderstorms in Bicol, Eastern and Central Visayas.

Mindanao will experience improved weather except for isolated rains.

The rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, will continue to have sunny to cloudy skies with possible afternoon or evening rains.
