• Liquor ban imposed in Tacloban during papal visit


    TACLOBAN CITY: Tacloban City Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez signed an executive order imposing liquor ban during the papal visit in Leyte.

    Mayor Romualdez approved the recommendation of the city police office and the city disaster risk reduction and management council for the issuance of this executive order to ensure public safety during the six-hour visit.

    The executive order prohibits anyone from selling and distributing beer, liquor, wine or alcoholic beverages from 12 midnight on Friday to Saturday midnight.

    Violation to the executive order may be subject to curtailment of their privilege to operate their business in the city.

    The city mayor ordered the traffic operations management enforcement control office and the city police office to enforce the executive order. PNA
