• Local products upbeat for export to EU market


    ILOILO CITY: Demand for Philippine-made products are up in the European Union mar-ket as a platform for Filipino exports where 11 to 12 percent of total exports find their way to  EU countries. This was disclosed by Department of Trade and Industry Director Senen Perlada during a forum with the Iloilo business community on April 23 here, which was aimed at engaging stakeholders to focus on the Asean Economic Community. Walter Van Hattum, counsellor and head of economic and trade section of EU delegation in Ma-nila, said the Association of Southeast Asian Nations will have to promote, encourage and even compel member nations to trade with the EU market.
