Re-electionist Senators Loren Legarda and Alan Peter Cayetano both are willing to forget the rift between them and work together after the elections.
Legarda and Cayetano, who both ran under the administration-led coalition Team PNoy, even denied that they were feuding.
“Ako ay isang taong walang sama ng loob maski kaninuman (I am a person who has no ill feelings for someone),” Legarda told a television interview.
During the campaign, Legarda declared that her “fellow candidates” were behind the reports that she failed to publicly declare an upscale condominium unit in New York in her Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN).
Although she did not name names, she is believed to be alluding to Cayetano.
But Cayetano said he did not “not feel alluded to” so he decided not to answer back.
President Benigno Aquino 3rd himself had admitted that some of the senatorial aspirants in his slate are not in good terms with each other.
Aquino said the Liberal Party’s leadership talked with Legarda and Cayetano to try to patch up things between them.
Despite the President’s admission, Cayetano said he was not confronted by Legarda about the issue.
