TELCO giant Globe on August 30 will mount a Lotus F1 driving exhibition at Bonifacio Global City (BGC). The event, called Slipstream, will also feature interactive booths and games, and a “high-velocity music festival” headlined by local and international artists.
Globe said the programs will start at 1 p.m. with a car parade at Bonifacio High Street.
Lotus F1 junior driver Marlon Stockinger is set to drive his Lotus WSR Gravity Charouz Formula Renault 3.5 car around a customized racetrack.
Bonifacio High Street will be turned into a “speed strip,” according to Globe, where people can take a joyride in a racecar simulator or join a speed challenge. The interactive booths of the different Globe brands will offer fun games and activities, and will also give away exclusive freebies. Guests get a chance to win a trip to the 2014 Singapore Grand Prix.
All activities are free and open to the public.
Other attractions include a vintage- and luxury-car parade, a car exhibition and a kart challenge for celebrities.
Electronic dance music performer Dualist Inquiry, American dance-punk band Chk Chk Chk, local bands Up Dharma Down, Yolanda Moon and Autotelic, and DJ Joey Santos will perform at the BGC Amphitheater.
“Globe Slipstream will bring one of the world’s fastest sports headlines by one the fastest-driving young drivers in the world at the country’s fastest-developing business hub powered by the nation’s fastest and most modern network,” said Peter Bilhos, chief operating advisor at Globe.
