Louie Ablaza’s diamond-studded birthday

When consuls Louie and Mellie Ablaza invite you to their party, you can be sure it will be fun, elegant, unique and one-of-a-kind beginning from the fabulous invitation, to the beautiful décor and excellent menu not to mention the entertainment. So once invited, you will never say no.

On Monday, the family of Consul Louie put on a fabulous James Bond-themed 75th birthday for him at the NBC Tent. Working with his mom, Mellie, JunJun Ablaza came up with a fantastic decor featuring hundreds of yards of fabrics draping, huge diamond shaped props and special lighting that produced scores of compliments.

We were told by host Johnny Litton that JunJun and his team spent nearly 36 hours turning the bland tent into the beautiful interior, which welcomed us as we entered the front door.

Entertainment was provided by a ballet company, Cocoy Laurel and the Manila Symphony Orchestra. But perhaps the most applause came when the Ablaza grandchildren sang and played various instruments.

Looking at the guests’ profile there were more than 500 from the diplomatic circle, government, business and Manila’s who’s who donned their best gowns and tuxedos and ladies adorned with their most expensive jewelries, rocks and blings which could buy a whole city.

It was truly a fabulous and unforgettable evening. Happy birthday dear Louie! May all your dreams and wishes come true.
