Classical quartet performs at Meralco Theater
The Latin classical crossover quartet Il Divo is due for a concert at the Meralco Theater on April 6 as part of their ongoing Amor & Pasion world tour. Star maker Simon Cowell first formed this multinational group in 2003, which brought together four 30-something male vocalists to recreate the sound of the famed Three Tenors, Luciano Pavarotti, Jose Carreras and Placido Domingo.
Swiss Urs Buhler, Spaniard Carlos Marin, American David Miller, and Frenchman Sébastien Izambard were discovered from a worldwide search that lasted for two years. Since then, the group has been named “Artist of the Decade” in the 2011 Britt Awards, and released nine critically acclaimed albums, the latest of which is Amor & Pasion in 2015.
The Manila Times’ partner hotel Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria is the official residence of Il Divo for their stay in Manila, and has designed special packages for those watching the concert, comprised of Premiere Suite stays, lunch or dinner at Seven Corners, and round trip access to Meralco Theater.
