This October, Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes topbills Genesis, an original and groundbreaking series that will take the audience on an emotional and inspiring journey towards a new beginning.

“It’s a story of mankind, when pushed to a wall, that’s when their true colors come out. In a scenario like the end of the world, doon lalabas ang tunay nilang kulay. So doon mo malalaman kung ano ba yong mahahalagang values na nasa tao. And for me, what we want to project is that love sees no end,” shared Dingdong to The Manila Times during the launch on Tuesday at the Sequioa Hotel in Quezon City.

Dingdong portrays the role of Isaak Macalintal who will lead the Operation Genesis, a modern-day Noah’s Ark wherein there are pre-selected people from all countries who will be saved in order to preserve the human race; and to be selected, one must be in perfect health condition.

“Sa scenario ni Isaak, he’s only limited to only a few people that he can save. But he has so much people in his life, ‘yong mahal nya, his family. Pero nag-struggle siya kung sinong isasalba nya. And I think ‘yon ang pinakamatinding conflict nya,” Dingdong elaborates on the struggle of his role.

Asked by The Manila Times who will he chose if ever he will be placed in the same scenario, the actor answered, “Everyone dapat ganito gawin, before you can save someone else, you have to save yourself first. Otherwise if you’re not strong, you cannot extend a helping hand. Baka hindi mo lang masalba yong tao, lalo mo lang mailagay sa pahamak. [Find] strength in yourself.”

Paired with Dingdong at the show is Kapuso leading lady Rhian Ramos who breathes life to Isaak’s childhood sweetheart and fiancée Raquel, whom he will save and protect until the very end.

Best actress Lorna Tolentino, meanwhile, plays the role of Sandra Sebastian-Trinidad, the principled president who will sacrifice anything for the sake of the country and its people just like her father, Edgardo.

Playing equally vital roles are versatile actor TJ Trinidad as Paolo de Guzman, the controlling and almost tyrannical husband of Raquel, and seasoned actress Jackielou Blanco as Ramona Escalabre, the cruel, manipulative and dishonest former President.

Completing the powerhouse cast are Irma Adlawan, Ronnie Henares, Carlo Gonzalez, Betong Sumaya, Luane Dy, Sasha Baldoza, Rainier Gison, and Annette Samin.

Aside from the stellar ensemble, there will also be special participation of respected TV and movie stars: Robert Arevalo, Bembol Roco, Gardo Versoza, Snooky Serna, Shamaine Centenera, Mark Anthony Fernandez, Angel Aquino, Pauleen Luna, Lauren Young, Lito Legaspi and Laurice Guillen, among others.

Under the helm of superb directors Joyce Bernal and Mark Reyes, Genesis is a journey that will showcase the basic goodness of mankind. The show will draw viewers to believe that no matter what adversities that would come along the way, there is hope for the future and that love sees no end.

Genesis premieres on October 14 and airs Monday to Friday on GMA Telebabad.
