A low pressure area (LPA) spotted off the Pacific Ocean may likely develop into a tropical depression, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Monday.
If it enters the Philippines, it will be named “Lando,” the 12th cyclone to hit the country this year and the second this month.
Pagasa said the cyclone will move toward the eastern section of Luzon and will bring rains by weekend.
Meanwhile, a tail-end of a cold front will bring rains over extreme northern Luzon.
A cold front is the merging of cool and dry winds from the northeast and warm and moist winds from the Pacific Ocean.
