VICE President Jejomar Binay on Friday accused the Liberal Party (LP) of trying to establish a one-party dictatorship using as front the so-called “Daang Matuwid” (straight path) advocacy.
Binay issued the statement in reaction to the pronouncement of Malacanang that the ruling party would need to be in power for 18 to 20 years before the good governance reform of President Benigno Aquino 3rd bears fruit.
This admission, he said, revealed the dictatorial tendency of the administration and its desperation to stay in power.
Binay, in a previous interview, said the administration has hatched a three-phased plan to install a dictatorial government.
“Itong panahon ni President Aquino, sirain ang institusyon ng hukuman, sirain ang institusyon ng Pangalawang Pangulo, hanggang sa matapos. On the third phase, maglalagay sila ng dictatorial damage government. Meron silang position doon, (During the regime of President Aquino, the target is to destroy judicial institution and the office of the vice president. On the third phase comes the dictatorial government where they will be given positions),” the vice president said in an interview during his visit to Gerona, Tarlac.
Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda earlier raised the need to sustain the good governance reform of the Aquino administration for at least two decades for it to produce results.
