THE Liberal Party (LP) prefers Sen. Grace Poe as the running mate of Interior Secretary Mar Roxas 2nd because it will ensure the continuance of reforms initiated by President Benigno Aquino 3rd, Calo¬ocan Rep. Edgar “Egay” Erice said on Saturday.
“Five years is not enough, we are eyeing 18 years of good governance,” Erice, the LP chairman for Political Affairs, said.
He added that there would be no problem if Poe will be Roxas’ runningmate because the two officials have “mutual respect for each other.”
The lawmaker said Roxas is trailing in surveys because of “language barrier.”
Walang laban si Binay doon (Secretary Roxas uses English and Visayan dialect but he uses his heart and brains in campaigning. Add to that the programs that he wants to implement, Binay will certainly lose),” he said, referring to Vice President Jejomar Binay.
Erice said Binay is not qualified to lead because of the many allegations of corruption hurled against him and members of his family.
I believe that Binay should not lead, being corrupt and a liar does not make a sound leader. For as long as monuments of plunder are there, Binay has no edge over Roxas),” he added.
