A low pressure area embedded in the monsoon trough will bring cloudy skies and light rains to Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
PAGASA said that as 4 a.m. Sunday, the LPA was 330 kilometers east of Surigao City.
The weather agency said the LPA has a high chance of becoming a tropical depression. Once it does it will be locally named, “Nando,” the fourth storm for this month and the 14th to enter the country this year.
PAGASA said Eastern Visayas and the province of Surigao will be cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms.
Bicol, Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) and the rest of Visayas and of Mindanao will be cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rains or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds from the southwest to south will blow over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate and seas slight to moderate.
PAGASA said the surge of the southwest monsoon has weakened and the gale warning has been lifted, but fishing boats and other small vessels are alerted against moderate to rough seas.
