• LPA moves closer to Quezon province; continues to bring rains over Luzon

The low pressure area (LPA) has moved closer to Quezon province and continues to bring rains over Luzon, including Metro Manila, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday.

In its 11 a.m. weather advisory, the state weather bureau said that as of 10 a.m. Tuesday, the LPA was estimated based on all available data in the vicinity of Alabat, Quezon (14.0°N, 122.0°E).

PAGASA said this weather system will bring light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Bicol Region, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), Central Luzon and the provinces of Pangasinan, Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

”Residents in these areas and local disaster risk reduction management councils concerned are advised to be alert and take all the necessary precautionary measures and monitor updates on the weather disturbance,” the weather agency said.

Weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said the LPA has slim chance to intensify into tropical cyclone but they still continue monitoring it. PNA
