The low pressure area hovering near in Batanes will bring rains in Northern Luzon, PAGASA said on Friday.
As of 4 a.m., the LPA was spotted near Itbayat, Batanes.
The LPA has a 50-50 chance of becoming a tropical cyclone. Once it intensifies into a tropical depression, it will be named “Maring,” the third cyclone to visit the country this month and the 13th this year.
The weak southwest monsoon affecting the western section of the country will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms in Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley and Zamboanga Peninsula.
The rest of the country including Metro Manila will be fair with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and possible isolated rains in the afternoon or evening because of localized thunderstorms.
