Rainy weather is expected to prevail over the parts of Visayas and Bicol region on Saturday because of the presence of a low pressure area (LPA), according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
As of 4 a.m. Saturday, the LPA was spotted some 175 km east of Borongan, Eastern Samar (11.6°N, 127.0°E).
Aldczar Aurelio, PAGASA weather forecaster said the LPA has slim chance to intensify into a tropical cyclone.
However, he said the LPA will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms over Bicol region and the Eastern and Central Visayas.
He added the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will experience generally fair weather or partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms.
In its advisory, PAGASA said light to moderate winds blowing from the east to northeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the northwest to southwest over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate. PNA
