The Light Rail Transit-1 will increase the number of its trips, including weekends and holidays, starting July 8, its operator has announced.
There will now be 554 trips from 512 daily; from 423 to 472 on Saturdays; and from 323 to 353 on Sundays, the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) said.
Operations will be from 4:30 AM to 10:15 PM.
“This new scheme will aid in enhancing LRT-1’s service by cutting passengers’ waiting time and lessening the crowds on the platforms even on weekends and holidays,” Rogelio Singson, LRMC president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
The dry runs for the new schedules will be on June 24 and 25, and July 1 and 2. REICELENE JOY IGNACIO
