THE Luzon grid will be placed on yellow alert for the third consecutive day this week due to high demand and limited generation capacity, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) said on Thursday.

The yellow alert will be up today in the region from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. because of "the unexpected shutdown and limited generation of some power plants, and high power demand," the NGCP said in a text advisory.
