Luzon boxer Penitente “The Thunder” Apolinar missed posting his fifth straight knockout victory but kept his unbeaten record by winning over Jun Ryan Quimbo via unanimous in the recent ALA Cobra’s “Tunay na Lakas” boxing tournament at the Murcia Sports and Cultural Center in Negros Occidental.

Apolinar, a featherweight, outclassed Quimbo (4-7-1 win-loss-draw record) in the entire six-round fight with ruthless body punches, “He keeps running all the way since the start of the fight,” said the 19-year-old Apolinar. His win-loss record is now 5-0 (four by knockout).

In the main event, Jonas Sultan knocked out former Philippine Junior flyweight champion Jerson Mancio in the fifth round to improve his win-loss record to 7-2 (five by knockout).

Mancio’s win-loss record dropped to 18-6-3 (nine by knockout).
