Macau increases fines for overstaying foreigners


THE Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) on Tuesday announced that the government of Macau has increased the penalty against illegal stayers. In a message posted on his official Twitter account, POEA chief Hans Leo Cacdac said Labor Attache Vivian Tornea reported that the penalty for overstaying was increased to MOP 500 from MOP 200 daily effective July 9. The fine will only be applicable to individuals who have overstayed for less than 30 days.
