A magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck Batangas province on Sunday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the tremor occurred at 8:27 am, the epicenter was traced 22 kilometers northwest of Calatagan in Batangas.
The agency noted the tremor was felt at Intensity 2 felt in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro.
The agency said the quake, which was tectonic in origin, had a shallow depth of 106 kilometers.
Phivolcs said there was no casualty or damage reported from the temblor and no aftershocks were expected from it.
