Magnitude 4.1 quake hits Davao Occ


COTABATO CITY: A magnitude 4.1 earthquake hit the town of Saranggani in the province of Davao Occidental on Sunday morning, the fourth tremor reported by the state volcanology office in the past 48 hours.
The 11:36 quake was traced 11 kilometers west of Saranggani and was tectonic in origin. It has a depth of 136 kilometers. No casualty was reported. About an hour and 30 minutes earlier, a magnitude 3.3 quake was recorded 53 kilometers east of Don Marcelino, also in Davao Occidental. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology also recorded magnitude 3.3 and magnitude 3.4, in nearby Jose Abad Santos town that occurred 7:50 a.m. and 10:59 p.m., respectively. Both tremors were tectonic in origin. No casualty was reported and no aftershock was expected.
