MANILA: A magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck the province of Quezon and was also felt in Metro Manila on Saturday evening, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the tremor occurred at 7:14 p.m. with its epicenter traced nine kilometers northeast of Burdeos, Quezon. Phivolcs added that tremor was felt at Intensity 3 in Quezon City, Binangonan and Baras in Rizal. Meanwhile, Intensity 2 was felt in Malolos, Bulacan, Paranaque City and Antipolo City, Guinanganyan Quezon while Intensity 1 was felt in Tagaytay City. The agency noted that the quake, which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of one kilometer. Philvocs said there was no casualty, damages and aftershocks were reported from the temblor.
