A 5.1-magnitude earthquake hit Wao, Lanao del Sur at 2:57 a.m. on Friday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake was located east northeast of Wao and was tectonic in origin with a depth of 9 kilometers. Intensity 5 was felt in nearby Kadingilan town in Bukidnon, Intensity 4 in Pangantukan town while Intensity 3 was felt in Maramag town. Meanwhile, Intensity 2 was felt in Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental. A series of aftershocks ranging from 2.5 to 3.0-magnitude followed at about 3 a.m. and a third at about 4:23 a.m. in Wao. No injuries have been recorded, Phivolcs added.
