KIDAPAWAN CITY: A 5.2 magnitude earthquake shook parts of Northern Mindanao on Saturday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Phivolcs said the epicenter of the quake, which was tectonic of origin, was traced to Talacogon town in Agusan Del Sur. It’s depth was 61-kilometer.
Intensity 5 was felt in Talacogon, Agusan Del Sur and Butuan City; Intensity 4 in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental; Intensity 3 in Cagayan De Oro City; Intensity 2 in Malaybalay City and Valencia in Bukidnon; and Intensity 1 in Mambajao, Camiguin island.
Phivolcs also reported instrumental intensity in Bislig City and Cagayan de Oro City at intensity 2, while intensity 1 here in Kidapawan City and other areas, including Cebu City and Alabel town in Sarangani.
No damages were expected but aftershocks are predicted after the tremor which was felt mainly in Northern parts of Mindanao.
