A magnitude 5.6 earthquake jolted parts of South Cotabato on Monday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

In its bulletin, the agency said the tremor occurred at about 6:34 a.m. with its epicenter traced nine kilometers southeast of Surallah in South Cotabato.
