A magnitude 5.6 earthquake jolted parts of South Cotabato on Monday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
In its bulletin, the agency said the tremor occurred at about 6:34 a.m. with its epicenter traced nine kilometers southeast of Surallah in South Cotabato.
Phivolcs said that no intensity was reported on the tremor, which was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 386 kilometers.
The agency noted that no damage was reported from the quakes and that aftershocks were also not expected as well. PNA
