COTABATO CITY: The Department of Public Works & Highways in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DPWH-ARMM) has lined up more road projects in Maguindanao to improve the flow of goods and produce.
On Tuesday, an agreement for the concreting of a 7-kilometer farm-to-market road in the town of Talayan was signed between DPWH-ARMM Secretary Emil Sa–dain, ARMM Gov. Mujiv Hataman, ARMM Agriculture Secretary Mac–mod Mending Jr. and Talayan Mayor Tungkang Midtimbang.
The P70-million road project, which will link Poblacion and Marader villages in Talayan, will be funded by ARMM’s Payapa at Masa–ganang Pamayanan (Pamana), a government’s flagship program that extends development interventions to the isolated, hard-to-reach and conflict-affected communities.
Hataman said the road will enhance the transport of farm products and help spur growth and economic development in the municipality.
Earlier, Hataman led the inauguration of a 1.4-kilometer road connecting Barangay Tamar to the main highway in Barangay Poblacion and the groundbreaking of 1.3-kilometer road in Barangay Calaan in Buldon town. The project is worth P12 million.
