Maguindanao officials’ ostentatious display of questionable wealth in poorest province

WE are writing you to seek help for our poor and troubled place Maguindanao. Already notorious for the Maguindanao Massacre, our place gained more notoriety for the SAF 44 Massacre!

But what the media headlines fail to capture is the daily suffering and deaths by war, rebellion and starvation suffered by the hapless people of Maguindanao. Year after year, government economic data rate Maguindanao as among the country’s poorest provinces. Yet nothing much is being done about it by the national and local government.
