In the upcoming season of the Philippine Basketball Association, Team Kia will be rebranded as Mahindra Enforcer as announced by franchise owner Columbia Autocar Corporation (CAC).
The decision to rebrand the up and coming basketball team is in support of the entry of the Mahindra vehicles to the Philippines, which is one of India’s most trusted and dependable automotive brand.
The Enforcer is the flagship model of the Mahindra brand, which the Alvarez-led Columbian Group of Companies is pushing aggressively to compete in the Philippine commercial vehicle sector market.
Asianbrands Motors Corporation (AMC), the authorized distributor of Mahindra in the Philippines, welcomed this development as it is seen as a determined marketing drive that seeks to make Mahindra a top-of-mind brand, joining the distinguished automotive stable of the Columbian group that also includes Kia, Peugeot and BMW.
“We are here to make a dramatic statement that the Mahindra is a brand to remember and to reckon with,” said Felix Mabilog Jr., president of AMC.
“By choosing to suit the CAC Team to Mahindra Enforcer, the Columbian Group has shown its trust and confidence in the Mahindra brand, envisioning it to become a major automotive force in the Philippines in no time at all,” he added.
Mahindra is an Indian-based automobile company known for its commercial vehicles. It is recognized in India as one of the largest vehicle manufacturers in the country and the world’s largest manufacturers of agricultural equipment.
AMC, the local distributor, sees small entrepreneurs and start-up businesses as the major market for the new line of commercial vehicles it has introduced – the Enforcer single cab and double cab and the Mahindra Xylo – distinguished for their toughness, agility, ruggedness, utility and value for money.
