According to a Dreamscape source, Maja Salvador has decided to leave ABS-CBN’s top-rated prime time series Ang Probinsyano, starring Coco Martin, permanently. Just one month shy of celebra-ting her first year with the show, the source admits that the Kapamilya actress could not be swayed to change her decision.
“She asked permission to leave the show properly from Dreamscape (the producer of Ang Probinsyano). Of course we didn’t want to let her go, but she insisted. She had made up her mind and her contract with the show had already expired last July as well,” the source shares.
Despite her decision, the staff and crew of Ang Probinsyano clarifies that there were no hard feelings on both sides over Maja’s departure.
“The staff was sad that she left. She was adored by the production team and she had always been generous and very professional to work with. She was friends with everybody so it was really hard for the staff to let go of her,” the source insists.
The fans of the show will surely miss the presence of SPO1 Glenda “Glen” Corpuz every week night, what with Maja’s acting definitely making its mark in the series.
Dreamscape is still hoping she will return for an appearance, especially with the hit program’s indefinite extension.
“Dreamscape production is thankful for the contribution Maja has given the show. Should she decide to return to Ang Probinsyano, she is very welcome,” our source relates.
Maja’s last episode aired on Thursday, August 4.
All that said, what might be Maja’s real reason for leaving such a successful program as Ang Probinsyano?
Unavailable as of press time, Ripples, will make sure to get Maja’s side of the story A.S.A.P.

Besides being one of the most talented and down-to-earth actors in the industry today, many may not know that off camera, Ang Probinsyano actor Coco Martin has a heart of gold as well.
Doing charity has always been a priority for Coco. Despite his tight schedule, he makes sure to find time to hold charity events and share his blessings with others.
On August 4, before proceeding to taping, Coco devoted some of his precious free time to meet the 800 student recipients of the “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano Kilos Kalusugan” event at Paradise Farm Community School in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.
Coco admits he was happy for the chance to visit the school again.
“The school has a soft spot in my heart. I love the children there. They are warm, gentle, and well behaved,” he admits.
Back in June, Coco first visited the school to lead “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano Salute sa Pamilyang Pilipino: Oplan Balik Eskwela 2016” outreach. He was seen bonding with the students, and personally distributed school bags and supplies to 800 student recipients to equip them with the basic necessities to excel in their daily classes and activities.
This time around, Coco distributed hygiene kits, while doctors from the Department of Health were also present to give lectures on dengue prevention, deworming, and flea and tick prevention. “The Kilos Kalusugan” event was made possible by Dreamscape and in cooperation with the ABS-CBN Integrated Public Service.
All expenses in the said charity event were shouldered by Coco.

Spotted in the country earlier this year as she made an appearance as the new endorser of a local clothing brand, Korean pop star Sandara Park is said to be heading back to the Philippines on August 22 to start taping her new Kapamilya show.
Sandara will be part of Pinoy Band Superstar with co-judges Vice Ganda and Yeng Constantino. The show has yet to announce another popular actor to round up the roster of judges.
The new reality show aims to discover new Filipino boy bands, comprised of good singers who have the “It” factor—the combination that will ultimately turn them into the biggest band in the country.
With taping for the show starting on August 23, Dara’s fans will not have to wait too long to see her on TV anew.
Pinoy Band Superstar’s nationwide auditions were already launched earlier, and very recently, the show’s Business Unit Head Louie Andrada along with teammates Peter Dizon and Adrian Lim flew to Korea just to shoot the show with Sandara.
“Dara is delightful. She has remained lovable, sweet, and funny. She is very excited to be doing the show. It is also impressive that when we talk to her, she still speaks fluently in Tagalog,” they share.
Pinoy Band Superstar is an international franchise of the reality TV show La Banda created by Simon Cowell (who was part of hit talent shows American Idol, America’s Got Talent and X-Factor).
Dara and Louie by the way are no strangers to each other. In fact they are very close since the latter was the production manager of the reality show Star Circle Quest where Dara emerged the winner.
Nowadays, Louie is a big boss in the TV production unit of ABS-CBN with shows like Magandang Buhay, Tonight with Boy Abunda, The Bottomline With Boy Abunda, Pilipinas Got Talent and Your Face Sounds Familiar.
Pinoy Band Superstar will start airing on ABS-CBN in September.
